Working with KS2 – 5 I use both traditional methods alongside digital media working in tandem with subject teachers, in all areas of the curriculum, identifying opportunities within schemes of work to develop short, medium and long term projects which inspire, educate and empower through a mix of contextual learning, performance and new media. This generates creative learning and democratic opportunities for all and has proved a successful way of approaching work within the school curriculum from raising achievement pupils through to G&T pupils.


Young people in the rural community of Pocklington participated in +Verb – part of the Arts Council England’s Young People’s Participatory Theatre project. As one of their Animateurs, I reflect on the experience via SKYPE with Paul Sutton, Artistic Director of C&T Theatre (
