In March last year I started to draw some of the people I love. I started because my youngest son wouldn’t come off his screen without a fight so I suggested we do something else for a while – and we sat across the table from each other with coloured pencils and a piece of watercolour paper (mixed media right there).

He was too cross with me for forcing the situation so he scribbled me. I asked him to sit still and I tried my best to draw what I could see.

My first attempt was odd but ignited something in me.

My second attempt was a few months later after a trip to the hairdressers and a maturing in his face (and my style).

Now, I draw to lose my mind. In a good way. But I can only draw faces that I love.
