a new play about Porn, Parenting and Pressure
How a deeply personal conversation about online pornography between an 11 year old boy and his mother went global.

co-produced and directed by Mark Hollander.
“No one is indifferent to the subject of pornography. Debate veers between total libertarianism and some kind of fundamentalism that would ban all things.”
as part of A Nation’s Theatre Festival
I turned to my clearly captivated 13 year old son at the end of the play and he said…”That’s about me isn’t it?” And there you have its appeal…’It’s about me and you and everyone in-between’ I replied.

Punching The Sky combines live performance with animation and an original score and explores the complexities of our relationship with online pornography, the dangers and redemptive qualities of the internet, and the contradictory nature of our feelings about sex, censorship and parenthood.
“The trauma inherent in the subject matter is addressed with a perfectly pitched amount of humour and smart delivery. At a time when internet censorship, monitoring and surveillance are daily headline news, this vital piece of work is more relevant than ever”.
Porl Cooper: Slunglow, Punching The Sky R&D Partner.
